Te Reo Term 4 2016



Blog Post Title : Te Reo, Term 4 2016.

This term we have been learning all about the Marae. We have learned that…….

  • The Marae is an important focal point for the community.
  • The Marae is a place where tradition and customs can be carried out.
  • The Marae is a place where people can express their values with dignity.
  • There are many kawa ( protocols) that prevail on the marae.
  • Marae kawa (protocols) can differ between maraes and iwi.


We have focussed on some key concepts when doing this learning.

Counting and number sequences

what i found easy is was the large number number find and what i find hard was the makeng number from a given set of numbers.

Fractions Term 4

WALT:

Music

I can describe the characteristics of music in songs from the past and present and from different genres.


Over the past 9 weeks I have been learning to describe the characteristics of music from songs of various times and genres.

I can name and define these characteristics of music… (list them below and explain what they are)

I found listen to the music interesting because it was ok music

Koru games

The activity I did was Football.
Two highlights of the Koru Games:
was that we can buy food from the food shop
and honking the horn for the final.
I am proud of my kicking skills.
Next year I will play a different sport because I want to do something different

For maths I have been learning to read and interpret a range of graphs. This relates to the National Standards as it meets the criteria of: Delete the ones that are not yours
  • I can identify patterns and trends in context, within and between data sets (Year ⅚ standard)

Term 1 Integrated Learning - Leadership


We have been learning all about What makes a good leader.


We identified that good leaders show 6 main character traits. These are integrity trustworthy resilient goal focused active thinker motivational

The leadership trait that I think I show the most is goal focused because i finish my sml

The leadership trait I would most like to develop is active thinker because i need to sit in good spots

Something NEW I have learned about leadership is being a pal

The SOLO level that I reached during this unit of learning is gather ideas because i need i need halp
(see slide 2 of the leadership modelling book for this)

My next step in learning about leadership is to apply everything that I have learned about leadership to my own leadership roles. is to turn up to pals

WALT: Apply Striking and Fielding activities in a range of sports and activities.


My Strengths


The striking strategies I was able to effectively demonstrate during the games we played were…….keep my eye on the ball


The throwing and catching strategies I was able to effectively demonstrate during the games we played were…….Step forward with opposite foot to arm that you are throwing with. Stand side on. Rotate shoulders. Follow through


My Next Steps


To improve my striking of a ball I need to hit the ball hard because i did hit it hard in that game

To Improve my catching and fielding I need to make a cup because then i can catch the ball


The game that I enjoyed the most was the because geting to hit 2 times
